Antibody Fragment-Conjugated Nanosystems for Targeted Therapy of Brain Infections (TARBRAINFECT)

16/EuroNanoMed/2019, Agreement signed on: 16.07.2019

Between 2019 and 2023, NanoSanguis implemented the project titled “Nanosystems Conjugated with Antibody Fragments for Treating Brain Infections” (TARBRAINFECT).

The aim of the project, carried out within a European consortium, was to develop new nanotherapeutics capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and effectively treating brain infections caused by various pathogens.

NanoSanguis was responsible for developing a polymer-based nanosystem for drug delivery, conjugated with antibodies that enabled BBB penetration and targeted action against brain-associated pathogens.

Project value: PLN 1,059,468.89
Funding amount:
PLN 847,575.11

The project was co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) under the EuroNanoMed III Joint Transnational Call for Proposals (2018) for “European Innovative Research & Technological Development Projects in Nanomedicine.”
