OrganFarm – System for Long-Term Ex Vivo Organ Storage.
POIR.01.01.01-00-0332/16
Between 2016 and 2024, NanoSanguis implemented a project co-financed by the European Funds entitled “OrganFarm – a system for long-term ex vivo organ preservation.”
The goal of the project was to develop an innovative system for the long-term preservation and transportation of organs—specifically kidneys, liver, and heart—composed of two key elements: an innovative organ perfusion fluid and an innovative device for organ storage and transportation.
As part of the project, a prototype of a device for subnormothermic or normothermic ex vivo organ perfusion was developed, along with a perfusion fluid in the form of a microemulsion. The system was used to develop an animal research model and in pilot studies involving ex vivo perfusion of isolated organs.
Total project value: PLN 3,588,264.42
EU co-financing: PLN 2,581,499.40
