Dr. Hab. N. Biol. Eng. Jarosław Woliński, professor at the Institute of Animal Physiology, head of the Laboratory of Large Animal Models, is the author of scientific publications and monographs, winner of many scientific awards in Poland and abroad. He collaborates with NanoSanguis, a company belonging to the NanoGroup capital group, on the NanOX project, and recently became a member of the newly established Scientific Council.
Dr. Woliński graduated from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, majoring in animal sciences. In 2003, he obtained a Ph.D. in agricultural sciences in the field of animal sciences (J. Kielanowski Institute of Animal Physiology and Nutrition, Polish Academy of Sciences, Jabłonna), and in 2012, a postdoctoral degree in biological sciences at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology. In 2020, he completed postgraduate studies in the field of organization and management of clinical trials at Lazarski University in Warsaw.
Dr. Jarosław Woliński is an outstanding scientist specializing in gastrointestinal physiology, neonatology and experimental surgery.
He is the author of approximately 100 JCR-listed publications, two scientific monographs, 16 scientific projects and 63 preclinical studies in the field of biomedicine, veterinary products and veterinary diagnostics, acting as project manager or main investigator.
In recent years he has conducted research on the physiology and pathophysiology of the gastrointestinal tract in premature infants, newborns and growing animals. He has directed and conducts preclinical studies aimed at developing innovative enzymatic therapies for human gastrointestinal diseases such as acute pancreatitis, gout, type II diabetes, prematurity, cystic fibrosis. He conducts research in the field of experimental surgery related to clinical problems, including anodontia in children, dental implantology, orthopedic implantology.
In the years 2005-2010 he was the acting head of the Department of Digestive Tract Physiology. He is one of the founding members of the Polish Pancreas Club, established in 2004. Since 2011 he has been a member of the Scientific Council of the Bank Mleka Kobiecego Foundation, and since 2014 he has been a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute.
During his career, Dr. Woliński has been the recipient of many prestigious scientific awards both in Poland and abroad. He was distinguished, among others, with the award of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland in 2004, awards of the Foundation for Polish Science in 2005 and 2006, and awards of the Minister of Science and Higher Education in the years 2008-2011. In 2016, he also received an award from the European Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
His achievements and contribution to the development of science are widely recognized and appreciated, making him one of the leading specialists in his field, as evidenced not only by numerous citations (over 1200), but also by the registered European Patent from 2006 (European Patent No. EP1734131, registered on 14.06.2006, published on 20.12.2006.
